Donald Sutherland är castad som President Snow!
Den vi alla väntat på, President Snow! Han kommer att spelas av Donald Sutherland, som kan hittas i bl.a. Pride and Prejudice där han spelar pappan i familjen Bennett.
Vad tycker ni om Donald i denna rollen? Jag själv tycker han ser precis ut som jag tänkt mig Snow!

Castingnyheter: Distrikt 5!
Nu är spelarna från distrikt 5 castade! Tjejen från distrikt 5 är Foxface (rävflickan i svenska böckerna?).
Vad tycker ni om Foxface? Hon är ju en karaktär man har fått se, många av spelarna är inte med så mycket. Nu är det bara Cato och Clove från 2, och resten av spelarna är sådanna vi inte vet namn på. Spännande att casten börjar fyllas på!!

Budget till HG filmen är 60 miljoner dollar
I EW har det nu skrivits om budgeten för Hunger Games filmen, och det sägs att det är 60 miljoner dollar!
Kickstarting a movie franchise based on a bestselling book series is tricky business. For every Harry Potter, there’s an Eragon (and a Percy Jackson, and a Series of Unfortunate Events). The filmed version of The Golden Compass cost close to $200 million — a huge expenditure that didn’t pay off. It looks like the makers of the upcoming Hunger Games movie are taking a slightly more conservative approach: according to a report on the Baseline Intel blog from the American Film Market, the film will have a budget of roughly $60 million. That’s about $20 million more than the budget of the first Twilight, but hey, the first Twilight didn’t feature a lavish future metropolis. Do you think it’s enough?

I've heard that there are scripts floating around. My agent and manager are working as hard as they can. I would definitely like a fair shot at this. I feel like I would be great for Katniss, so I would love to go out for it.

I've read all of them! Besides wanting the role, I'm just a die-hard fan of the books. Suzanne [Collins] did a great, great, great job by keeping me engaged in all three. I'm a "Harry Potter" fan, a "Twilight" fan, and I think "The Hunger Games" surpasses them all.

I know! I really enjoyed it. I liked that it wasn't too saturated in romance or having someone have a superpower. It was real people, real fighting and real struggles, and the fact that it was in the future is very captivating. It's just real. I like it.

Oh, man. They were all really good in their own way. You really see Katniss just have an internal makeover throughout each book. "Catching Fire" was really, really good, and "Mockingjay" just made me really sad. But as far as catching my attention, "Hunger Games" has a special place in my heart because that's what caught me initially.

I'm going to sound like I'm tooting my own horn! Looks-wise, I think I'm good for it. When people first meet me, they're always like, 'What are you?' as far as ethnicity. And I've been pegged as 'ethnically ambiguous.' I think the years the "Hunger Games" takes place, everyone is going be ethnically ambiguous. Everyone is going to have some exotic flavor to them. Slap some gray contacts on me, and I'm good to go.

As far as portraying Katniss and her strength, I feel like with "Vampire Diaries," I got a lot of experience dabbling in that, and proving to people that I could pull that off. And I've grown so much since then. So I can only imagine what I could do if I was presented with the role of Katniss. I would do my absolute best. I would give it 2,000 percent for everyone. I know there are some die-hard fans out there.

Kaya Scoldelario har manuset och tackar fansen!
Även Kaya Scoldelario har fått manuset av Hunger Games filmen, och via twitter tackar hon fansen som har uppmärksammat henne som förslag. Hon säger att hon gillar det, men det låter som att hon inte tror hon kommer få rollen. Hon har varit en stor favorit hos fansen sedan start, men vi får se hur det blir!

Gary Ross kanske regisserar Hunger Games filmen
Det har kommit nyheter från Deadline om regissörvalet till filmatiseringen av The Hunger Games. I artikeln låter det som om Gary Ross är den som ska regissera, men vi får väl se snart!
Gary Ross is in early talks to direct The Hunger Games, the first installment of the novel trilogy by Suzanne Collins. The film is a joint production between Lionsgate and Color Force’s Nina Jacobson. Filming will start next year with a script by Billy Ray, who rewrote a draft by the author. The huge sales of the trilogy make the film adaptations a potential game-changer for Lionsgate, the way that Twilight was for Summit Entertainment. It has been a coveted job among directors (Three More Directors Circle ‘The Hunger Games’), and Lionsgate picture chief Joe Drake and Jacobson spent the past two weeks meeting candidates that included Sam Mendes, David Slade (also a contender for the X-Men Origins: Wolverine 2 job), Andrew Adamson, Rupert Sanders, and Nanny McPhee Returns helmer Susanna White. There was also talk about Francis Lawrence. It’s unclear who stayed in or out as Lionsgate focused on Ross, who directed Pleasantville and Seabiscuit. He isn’t set yet, but he is the choice. Let the negotiating games begin. Mendes, for instance, bowed out of contention last Friday, and I’m told it was because the MGM picture is clearing up and it looks like production on 007 could begin by late summer or early fall, 2011 with Mendes at the helm and Daniel Craig back in the Aston Martin.
